There is a myth in the world of bullfighting that a bull charges with his eyes closed.

Peter Orphanos is an artist known by many and at the same time relatively unheard-of. In a self-depreciating manner, he might tell you how this recording was off-the-cuff, describing how quickly it came together, but I know differently. Through Peter's vision and boldness this recording exists. This musical offering is the result of years of preparation. prevoked into action by a disdain for mediocrity. Just as a bull's charge is both spontaneous and deliberate, so was this recording. Sometime before November 14, 1999 the pieces and the studio had been chosen and the musicians hoped for; then it was as though a red cape was waved. Peter and two of the musicians had never met and there were no rehearsals. In one day they went in and created this recording,. . .

With Open Eyes.
